Selena started her musical career when she was eight an young. Her father was the founder of the band. The band was composed of Selena along with her elder siblings Abraham junior who played the base guitar as well as sister Suzette who played the drums and Selena was the vocalist of the group. Selena Y Los Dino, the band that she was in was known as Selena Y Los Dino. She would also perform at wedding fairs as and in eating places. Selena's siblings and she didn't have having a happy childhood since the group took up lots of time. They had a father named Abraham was a great supporter of the band members to be determined by urging them on. Abraham senior performed in Los Dinos, the band that started it all. Selena Y Los Dinos was official formed in the year 1981. It was a family-owned business, Selena Los Dinos, the main source of income for the Quintanilla family. Even though there were times of struggle starting out with very little cash, the Quintanilla family stood firm and persevered in their endeavors to be an effective band. Selena Y Los Dinos achieved fame throughout the western States in the latter part of the 1980s. In 1986, the group got their first taste of success in the form of Selena won awards for Female Singer of the Year and The Best Performer Award in the Tejano music awards. Selena Y Los Dinos gained recognition and fame after that. They appeared on numerous Spanish language television shows such as El Show De Johnny Canales Siempre En Domingo and Sabado Gigante.
